No. Your credit score is only checked when we submit a formal application to a lender. Before that, there are several steps — like reviewing your documents, running borrowing estimates, and finding the right structure — that don’t touch your credit file. I’ll walk you through those steps when the time comes.

How much can I borrow?

This depends on your income, expenses, and debts. We’ll assess your borrowing power across multiple banks and lenders to give you a clear range and repayments.

How much deposit do I need?

As little as 5% with government schemes. Otherwise, 10–20% is standard. We also have strategies to help you get in with smaller deposits, and we’ll advise you on how to put plans in place to make it work. Plus, we’ll show you if you qualify for first-home buyer benefits.

What documents do I need?

Generally: payslips, bank statements, ID, and details of any loans or credit cards. If you’re self-employed, tax returns or BAS statements may be needed.

Do I need property security to get approved?

Yes. For home loans, the property itself is the security. But you don’t need to offer any other assets, unlike business loans.
